Before The Coffee Gets Cold--Book Review

Oftentimes we ignore the people that matter the most to us, we neglect them unaware and ignorant of what the next moment may bring. It is only when the prospect of not having them comes, it gives you a shiver down your spine.

Imagine, if you could just go back in time and have a brief conversation with the person you continuously neglected only to apologise and to express your love and gratitude to them. Such is the legend of the Tokyo cafe Funiculi Funicula.

The story revolves around Fumiko,a business woman whose boyfriend for three years is moving into America. Then there's a nurse named Kohtake, trying to find a letter her Alzheimer-stricken husband wrote. The third, a bar owner named Hirai, tries to talk to her sister whom she's been avoiding. The fourth, one of the café co-owners named Kei, tries to go to the future to talk to her unborn daughter.

All of them have been casually going through their daily chores untill suddenly something terrible started happening in their lives, which made them start questioning things. The ultimate motive of the writer,I believe is to convince us to start taking the people around us seriously and to start caring for them.

There is no way of knowing about the "good old days" untill they have passed, start enjoying the moment living everyday as a future "GOOD OLD DAY"
